North America

Day 407. Been playing around with some different photography styles lately, hope you guys don't mind, there's so much to learn. This shot is from Costa Rica way back in February, such a gorgeous, nearly pristine country. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 333. South America! Savannah was super chill on the flight and we had an entire row to ourselves. Everything went as seamlessly as I hoped. Amped to explore Bogota! #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 332. Good news! Looks like I'll be able to bring Savannah on the plane to Bogota as a service dog. Free of charge and she'll sit at my feet. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 331. Panama canal. Yesterday I had Dunkin Donuts, general tsos, and watched Netflix for hours. Felt pretty good to binge. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 328. I've somehow managed to keep my twenty-four mile a day pace since crossing into Panama. I've been waking at four and the sun doesn't set until 7 so I have plenty of possible walking hours. I've gotten used to the schedule, but man, can't wait toDay 236. Machete, Thomas the Tank Engine backpack, and cell phone - ready for work. Only a few more days to Panama City. That's about all my feet can take anyway. These shoes feel like a vice. I wrapped my feet with Leukoplast this morning and it seems toDay 324. Possibly only a week left until Panama City. Savannah and I having been hauling lately, at least twenty-five miles a day. All that mileage was taking it's toll last night, but this morning I got into the Santiago and loaded up on food for a massiDay 323. My private paved lane has ended. Now it's a private unpaved lane. Pushing my cart over packed dirt is still better than walking beside traffic. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaWalking along mountain ridges all day. The construction workers are off for Sunday, but periodically there are Igloo coolers with still cold water. It's such a small thing, but cold water has got to be the greatest luxury. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 322. Tough day of climbing yesterday, but was rewarded with some great views. With this open lane Savannah and I are making great time. If we can keep pace we'll make it to Panama City in under ten days. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 321. Was a good day yesterday. Walked twenty-seven miles, met a group of Mexican bikers that gave me water, a construction worker who gave me a slice of melon, a truck driver who bought me an energy drink, and a waitress who offered free soup. Loads oDay 320. As if things weren't good enough already, the road I'm walking is under construction for the next 200km, leaving an entire lane for myself. Should have some high mileage days. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaDay 319. Panamanian playhouse. This country is a walker's dream! Wide shoulders on the road, sidewalks, streetlights. I went into a supermarket today and had goosebumps from how well stocked it was. #theworldwalk #travel #panamaAfter four hours of bouncing between offices and vets Savannah and I made it into Panama. It was cloudy so we were able to walk through midday. At about 5:30 we found ourselves a good hiding spot with walls of bamboo and piles of sugar cane. And as with eDay 318. Into Panama today! The last country of North America! From Jersey to Panama in under a year, not a bad pace. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 317. Me and the pup at Finca Bellavista. We're back on the road, slightly more than a day from the Panamanian border. Felt good and familiar in my tent last night. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 315. Guardians of the suspension bridge. Had a dream day yesterday; three buffets, explored the jungle, passed out in a treehouse. @finca_bellavista is a fantasy. #theworldwalk #travel #costarica@finca_bellavista Is putting me up in a treehouse tonight...yes, a treehouse. I got emailed by the owner at eight last night and it was just in time, I was only 9km away. Pulled in the this morning then it was straight through the jungle to this river. CeDay 314. Costa Rica has the best rivers, loads of them and almost always impeccable. About every other day I'm able to bathe in a river and wash off the thick layer of sweat stuck to me. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaLifelong surfer, dude. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 312. Surfer day waiting to hit the waves. Had a phenomenal night last night. The NY couple I met at lunch brought me into their bungalow, allowed me to shower, bought me a filet for dinner, then let me crash at their place too. Savannah loved the air-Day 311. Lone strip airport in Quepos. More palm farms all day. Humidity is crazy but have finally figured out there's just no walking after ten. Today, I had to stop in a touristy town for the midday hours. Was pretty pissed at first, seeing bubbly, fresIn the morning, when I could actually look around because it wasn't too hot, the miles of palm farms were comforting. Their repetitiveness made it so I had no idea how far I walked, whenever I looked left or right it was the same sight; palm trees in neatDay 310. Palms, palms, palms, miles of palms. Woke at 4, gonna walk until about ten, then take off until 2. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaNot a bad place to lay down your estate. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 309. Had to do some trespassing for a spot to sleep last night. I set up behind this tree and as the sun was setting a family pulled onto the land in their Gator. I walked up to them and told them my story, that I was only looking for a safe place toJaco, Costa Rica. Right beside Playa Hermosa, some of the best surfing in the world. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaSo many cool freaking jeeps! It's got to be every tenth car. Also, holy hell, this humidity. I've been up since 5:30 and have only managed a meager 14 miles. Considering night walking...the benefits are Savannah and I could actually enjoy walking, the draCrosses over this bridge a bit earlier. It's so impossibly humid down here that I was essentially worthless for most of the day. It was only in the morning and after three that I could do any meaningful walking. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 306. I've taken a few photos this morning but don't like the way they came out. I'll have to fall back on Savannah's cuteness. This is from the first day I got her, fresh out of the shower. Not sure what I was thinking adopting such a young pup, but dConstruction worker with his protection from the dust and sun. It's been tough walking today, not too hot, but haven't gotten my rhythm back yet, it'll certainly be a great sleep tonight. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 304. Feels really good to be back on the road, especially since the road I'm walking is under construction so I have an entire lane to myself. Here's a Guanacaste tree, the national tree of Costa Rica. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 303. Finally heading out. Gonna be a scorcher but can't let that stop me. Only a month left in the North American. Soon enough I'll be in Colombia. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 302. Sailboat crossing over the sunset. Nothing like a lazy Sunday by the beach. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 301. Well, girls couldn't bring themselves to return to twenty degree weather just yet so they pushed back their flight. Looks like I'll have at least another day or two before taking off. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaBeach bonfire with a few locals who are professionals at making friends with the new gringos in town. Good way to end the week, even found myself a cigar. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 299. View of Playa Hermosa from the highest spot I could find. Possibly headed to the canopy today or possibly laying in the hammock all day, either way it's a success. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 298. Savannah outside the beach bar at night. Planning on doing nothing but bumming and reading today, fingers crossed I can find a cigar too. #theworldwalk #travel #costarica #savannahtwwNinaVickSS_HDRWater world. #theworldwalk #travel #costarica #theta360Day 296. Busy day of exploring yesterday. We took a boat ride out to a secluded beach then went snorkeling. Our guide came out of the water with this scallop, which was probably the best thing I've ever tasted. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 295. Girls made it. We watched the sunset last night and the sunset this morning. It's strange having friends around, being able to speak in English, it's been five months since seeing a familiar face. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 294. "Wait, my friend, cheap adventures, boats and jet skis." "How much?" "Snorkeling is very cheap, only twenty dollars for two hours." "And a jet ski?" "Jet skis are very cheap, only a hundred dollars an hour." #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 293. Made it to the beach. Slept in. Life is good. #theworldwalk #travel #costarica #savannahtwwDay 291. Haven't seen any jungle yet. The national parks were dry and leafless, now it's horses and cows. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaThe end of another day, nothing like a good wall to call home for the night. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 290. Pretty good night sleep behind a gas station, but it's crazy humid here, have been drenched in sweat since 7:30. The road from the border is pretty barren. Stopped for a moment when I saw this beautiful walkway to a house that was tucked away inSavannah and I have crossed the next border. There was a wait to get into Costa Rica, and I had to buy a bus ticket to prove I was going somewhere, but we're in. This is the last shot from Nicaragua, huge wind farm along the south-west coast of Lago NicarThe Castle Ranch, where your view is a volcanic island (Volcán Concepción). #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaGrate greats in Granada. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 287. One week left to Costa Rica and a week off. Only have to average eighteen miles a day to get there in time to meet @ninarizzoo and @victoriarizzo1. Doing my best not to linger in Granada, back to the road it is. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 285. Guy selling birds for pets and iguanas for eating. Curious to try iguana, but not gonna be carrying around a live one until finding a grill. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaShoutout to my main girl. I've been sleeping without the tent the past few nights, laying out on my tarp and watching satellites drift by. While I relax, Savannah listens and guards. Has me feeling like a real cowboy. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 281. Slept outside at a mud brick factory last night, at five this morning three guys pull up and start banging on the lock of the shed, so I stand up to make myself known. The owner of the factory said I could stay there so didn't want him getting roDay 279. Sunset from my open air bedroom last night. Ended up being an eventful evening, the owner of the building came with a machete looking for some bad guys who took one of his cows the night before. Then he ended up staying the night as lookout. #theThe climb to get here was miserable, but after sitting down for a bit a guy stopped and told me this building was his friend's and that I could sleep here for the night. Then he gave me pizza. Life is alright. #theworldwalk #travel #hondurasFew roads, few houses, few shops, endless landscapes. #theworldwalk #travel #hondurasDay 277. It's been so hot down here I've basically been in a hasty delirium while walking. But since I stopped early yesterday I was actually able to explore with a level head and open eyes. Saw this kid helping his dad lay a new roof and thought of all tDay 276. Had a long day getting to a city yesterday, so taking a half day today. From all the locals I've talked to this part of the country is pretty safe, and even though it's possible to camp here I'm not taking any chances and will hop from city to ciDay 274. Because of my shortcut I was able to wander around San Miguel last night. It's an old, rough city with a very gradual transition from rural to urban. I spoke with this hammock salesman for a bit but he mumbled so much The only thing I understoodDay 273. I'm so freaking sore, contemplated laying around for another hour. Sure once I get moving though I'll hit my stride. Been loving El Salvador, but only a few more days here. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorThere's always some trash or grass on fire down here, doesn't smell great but the smoke makes for picturesque sunlight. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 271. Me and Savannah girl on the Pacific. Have been pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and friendly El Salvador has been. Every single person says hi. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 270. Slept on a mattress on a platform beside the ocean and could have easily laid there all day. Time to get moving though, have a pace to keep. There's one more day of hills then I should be back to flat ground for a while. #theworldwalk #travel #elDay 268. And suddenly the land was flat. I'm only at the beginning of El Salvador, but all the cows and barbed wire almost make it feel like Texas. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 267. It's about time I posted a political painting. These signs are all over rocks and walls down here. Also, made it 23 miles yesterday and should do 22 today after crossing into El Salvador. Two days in and I've kept pace to Costa Rica. #theworldwalDay 266. So I have two friends coming to Costa Rica on February sixth. I'm about 1000 kilometers away and have twenty-nine days before they arrive. That means if I want to spend the week with them I'll have to average 35 kilometers a day (or 21 miles). I'Day 264. After sleeping about half of yesterday I'm feeling much better today. Savannah and I are gonna be burning out some miles. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 262. Sorry for the delay, had a pretty rough one. My body was tight and sore. I had a headache all day from trying to kick caffeine. And think I brought a little sickness with me from Lake Atitlan. Was only able to get down a few pineapple slices allDay 261. Last morning here and it's a beautiful one. In the distance Volcán de Fuego's plume is catching the morning light. I'll miss this place, especially in the morning, but it's time to move on. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 259. Clothes for sale and drains in the ground. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaGet on the boat first and you'll be pushed to the back, stand around on the dock until they push off and you get seats on the bow. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 256. Spanish all day, cramming as much in my head while I have the opportunity. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 255. Every morning it's like this; the sunlight misting the volcanos with yellow light and the streets permitting uncluttered vistas by taking steep drops down the mountain. Thinking once I've made some money I'll build myself a writing retreat with tDay 254. I somehow turned this into a dive. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 253. Savannah is a very popular girl down here, she's made me more than a few friends. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 252. Morning walks and Spanish lessons have been my life this past week and I've loved every second of it. Staying another week for more, trying to break my Spanish plateau. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 251. Merry Christmas! Now get off the screen and spend your day with family and friends! #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaLake Atitlan, well worth the walk. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 244. Lots of towns nestled in the jungle. Think I'm through the most difficult ascent, hoping for a somewhat easier day today and actually being capable of doing more than twelve miles. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 243. Million dollar view from the back porch of some friendly Guatemalans who took me in for the night. So far this country has been unbelievably physically taxing but also the most welcoming. Everyone strikes up a conversation. Also, have internet foDay 241! We're in Guatemala and what an adventure it's been. My new phone wasn't getting any data this morning so before crossing the border I wanted to reset it one last time to try and get it going. To get the SIM out I whittled sticks unsuccessfully foDay 240. Great colors everywhere. Should be crossing into Guatemala today, just waiting for my cell service to start working. #theworldwalk #travel #MexicoDay 238. Package was on the move yesterday, will hopefully be here today or tomorrow. Bumming has been nice, I try to appreciate having a big bed, air-conditioning, and a hot shower because I know once I'm back on the road I'll be daydreaming of them. #thWatching people people-watching. #theworldwalk #travel #MexicoDay 237. Peppers and their salesman tucked in a cramped market alleyway. Huge bags of loose pasta for sale too. Still waiting on my package, looks to be another few days at least. I'll just think of this hotel room and my time off as a Christmas present tWalking through the centro of Tapachula there were five seat tiendas packed into the streets selling smoothies, grilled chicken, tacos, and just about everything else. #theworldwalk #travel #MexicoDay 236. Had a full day of doing nothing yesterday and it was fantastic. While I wait for my second package today I'll be making the most of my time in Tapachula; writing, Spanish, and photographing the city. Time to get to it! (Also, this photo isn't froDay 235. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this is about as beautiful as it gets to my eyes. They sell coconut milk with pulp out of plastic bags for ten pesos. Gonna be tremendously hot today, luckily I'm somewhat back in civilization so I'll be able to grab cold drinks along the way. #theworldwalk #travelDay 232. Love being up before sunrise every morning, with the clouds settled in the mountains I'm guaranteed some incredible views. Not much development down here, just massive landscapes. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 231. Sorry for the delay, there's no service between cities and the cities are about twenty-five miles apart. Been hot but Savannah and I have powered through. Have a hotel room waiting for me in Tapachula, the Mexican border city, and I can't stop daDay 230. Savannah and I are up early to get in as many miles before midday as possible. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoHe seems a bit incredulous. Walking around the world you say? #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 228. Different view on dogs down here. There isn't the strict form of ownership there is in the U.S. Many dogs are strays that people feed when they hang around their house. I've met many people who've said 'we have dogs,' but the dogs came and went aI'm having a lot of fun being alive. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 227. San Pedro Tapanatepec is a gorgeous little town. The mountains surrounding it carry a steady breeze along its streets while putt-putts ferry passengers to their colorful homes and chestnut-haired women gossip in the town center. #theworldwalk #trHad breakfast at a billiards room this morning. There was a guy there playing guitar and a chihuahua for Savannah to play with. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 226. Since there weren't any bugs last night I decided not to set up my tent and lay out on my tarp instead. Even though I was right outside a decent-sized city I could still see thousands of stars. Good reminder to pay attention for the minuscule stiA good example of the typical Mexican Main Street. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 225. The longer I'm on the road the more I appreciate why people hole themselves up in nice air-conditioned houses to watch tv. Being on the road seven days a week means being forced to climb mountains when it's humid and windless. It means there's noGreat colors down here. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 224. Absurdly windy night. Probably shouldn't have set up beside the windmills. But all the ruckus of my tent shaking forced me up extra early and allowed me to enjoy my coffee with this view. Gorgeous country. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoBlessed with some wonderful views today. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 223. Happy Thanksgiving! The rain has finally stopped! Thankful to be living my dream. Thankful to be healthy. Thankful for my family and for Savannah. And thankful for everyone that's following along and keeping me in touch with the world. #theworldwChild-proofed plant. Also, wish I had moved my foot. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 222. Passed through the most gorgeous town yesterday. Perched on a mountain, La Cumbre was filled with massive trees, hilltop houses, and winding paths like these. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoI think I found Epona in Oaxaca, Mexico. #theworldwalk #travel #mexico #zeldaDay 221. I stopped in town yesterday to find a supermarket but there was none. Instead there were specific shops for everything, bread, meats, and vegetables. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoOnce you see how tortillas are made... #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 220. Rain four days in a row and looks like it'll last another four. Savannah loves it, but I need dry socks. Still great to be out here, loving life. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoWhere pineapples grow. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 219. Unlike the night before I had a great night sleep last night. Found a big tree to nestle my tent under then hung my dromedary bag and took an outdoor shower. Felt so nice falling asleep clean. Also, Go Birds! #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoWhat the typical restaurant has looked like for the past few hundred miles. Sometimes there's a menu, sometimes you just ask what they have. Either way you're guaranteed good grub. #theworldwalk #travel #mexicoDay 218. Camping every night means there's bound to be some bad sleeps, last night was one of them, traffic was loud and spent about a half an hour at one in the morning killing an invasion of ants. Luckily got packed this morning before it started raininBeneath the occasional overpass today has been someone with a pile of pineapples selling fresh pineapple juice. Got myself a delicious liter for $1.66. At the next one I'm picking up the pineapple juice with lime and chili powder in it. #theworldwalk #traDay 217. This shot is actually from yesterday, it's all rain this morning. Walked about six miles to a truck stop, attempting to wait out the rain here but doesn't look like it's gonna let up, might be no avoiding it today. #theworldwalk #travel #MexicoPretty lazy day today, probably connected to the massive breakfast I had at this place. I was so worried that I wasn't getting enough calories I ate too much at once. Savannah and I had to hang around on these chairs for a little to digest. #theworldwalkDay 216. Came across these guys and their mom about five minutes into walking this morning. Think this little one wanted to join me and Savannah. #theworldwalk #travel #MexicoAnother good day of tramping. Was exhausted this morning but luckily found a restaurant after a few miles to chow down at. Had two meals, coffee, fresh orange juice, skittles for desert, and bought five 1.5 liter bottles of water to go. All for the crushiDay 215. Misty and cloudy. Not a lot happening around here, think Savannah and I have at least a day's walk to the next place to restock. #theworldwalk #mexico #travelHas been a good walking day. It isn't too hot, there's a breeze, and a view every once in a while. #theworldwalk #mexico #travelDay 214. Barbed wire fences all along the road I'm walking. Vines are always crawling along them. Feels good to be back on the road, there's a steadiness to walking that is settling. #theworldwalk #mexico #travelHere's to all you crazy dreamers Dream your crazy dreams Don't let them go Deep inside your heart I'm sure you know Deep inside your heart I'm sure you know #theworldwalk #travel #mexico #raylamontangeDay 213. Not heading to the vet, just liked the colors. Veracruz has been good to me, the week off gave me time to recoup physically and mentally. Ready to get back on the road and burn out some miles. #theworldwalk #mexico #travelDay 212. It would be a gorgeous day to be out for a eight hour walk, but who could do that when the Birds are playing later? Taking full advantage of my connectivity while I can. #theworldwalk #mexico #travelDay 211. A shot of the walkways at the fortress San Juan de Ulúa. Trying to decide whether to start walking again today...I really want to but it's raining intermittently and I know how much spending a day in the rain can suck. #theworldwalk #travel #mexiDay 210. Can't leave this nice room when it's raining...looks like it'll be another day here. Only walking far enough to make it to the coffee shop. Part one of The World Walk complete! New Jersey to Panama City in under a year. Because of the Darien Gap I can't walk to Colombia, so I'll be taking a plane to Bogota and spending a month there with a good friend before starting part two of TheDay 327. Since leaving the US it's been all above ground cemeteries. Lately, the shoulder has been wide and the roads hilly. I walk a few good hours in the morning before I'm limping along trying to ignore my cramping feet. Panama City is closing in, justDay 325. Adventure! It exists! Outside the door and out in the world! We're nearly at the Panamanian border, should be crossing early tomorrow, right now just need to find a place to sleep... #theworldwalk #travel #costarica #savannahtwwDay 316. Last few hours at Finca Bellavista. Blisters have healed and muscles are a little less sore. Morning yoga soon to stretch it all out, then hitting the road and make my push to Panama City. Thank you Finca Bellavista for another great day. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 313. Laid down for an hour then was overrun by these school kids playing a match of soccer before the bell rang. Was good free entertainment for a bit. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 308. Made it over these fellas and to the beach. It'll be walking along the water for a week or so. Managed to do some good walking this morning thanks to a wall of shade, putting off night-walking, but think it's inevitable. #theworldwalk #travel #coDay 307. I tried to sleep on that cliff but there was a shuttered resort and security wouldn't let me pass. Had to find myself a spot on the beach for sunset. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 305. Strange, it's not terribly hot, but the humidity is exhausting. It's a challenge to even walk an hour at a time. Gonna keep pushing though, it's a stretch, but aiming for a hearty 24 miles today. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 302. Bumming along down here. Hammock to beach and back to the hammock. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 292. Was too hot to sleep much last night. My legs are sore, I'm tired, and it's crazy humid, but only a few more hours until I get to rest for a week. So ready for Playa Hermosa. #theworldwalk #travel #costaricaDay 288. I'm actually a day out of Granada and only two days from the Costa Rican border, but the city was so damn photogenic I have to post at least one more shot. Look at that sidewalk! And the roof! And the doors! And the windows! If I ever buy a cityThere's a shoulder-wide stairwell up the bell tower of Catedral de Granada. Near the top of the stairwell there are open portholes that frame Granada in a spectacular way. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 286. It's been much drier here than I expected, makes for great mosquito-less camping though. Tonight I got myself a hotel room in Granada so I can explore the city and take some photos. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaBiker boys were much friendlier than their scowls, even spoke decent English. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 284. Ten days left to Costa Rica and about two-hundred miles left. The past few days have been dry, almost desert-like, but the road is descending and the land is becoming more lush. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 282. Was taken in for lunch yesterday and shown how to make a proper tortilla. Here's the setup. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaYoung bull herding the bulls. Nicaragua has been phenomenal so far, a huge weight lifted once I crossed the border, feel very secure. #theworldwalk #travel #nicaraguaDay 280. Into Nicaragua! Had to wait a bit to get Savannah out of Honduras because the quarantine workers were on lunch, but other than that, no problems. Loving Nicaragua so far, it's a cool day and feels far safer and wealthier than Honduras. #theworldwDay 278. Few supermarkets, but lots of markets. Another day and a half in Honduras, should be getting up to about 110 today, which means a nice long siesta. #theworldwalk #travel #hondurasGrass building on the water for massive laundry sessions. #theworldwalk #travel #hondurasThe last ten miles of El Salvador was all picturesque fields on amber. Was windy and peaceful. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 275. Have roughly four hundred miles left to Costa Rica and twenty days to walk it, realized yesterday I'll have to take a longer route than I initially thought. Anyway, into Honduras today! #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorTook a shortcut to San Miguel to cut ten miles off the journey. Was concerned for at first after seeing a guy with three years tattooed beneath his eye, then a guy shooting his rifle, then a man with no eye. Somehow things turned around though and was invOoh, baby, do you know what that's worth? #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorBeen walking along the Pacific for so long, finally got my first glimpse of it. Found a cool little pathway to the top of a cliff for a good view. #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 269. Great roads down here are making it easy to keep pace to Costa Rica. Only struggle is because there are people living everywhere it's difficult to find a camp spot. This would have been a good spot to camp though, right beneath that tree. #theworI pause at the entrance of their house. "That's a beautiful tree," I say to the mother. "Yes," she says. "Can I take a picture of it?" "Of course." Her son runs outside and sees me. "Gringo!" #theworldwalk #travel #elsalvadorDay 265. Last shot from Lake Atitlan I swear - just love this photo. And today, I'm finally feeling back up to the challenge, took some antibiotics last night and they seemed to have wiped out whatever was going on in my stomach. Looking forward to a fullDay 263. I'll be staying in San Marcos La Laguna a bit longer working on the goal within the goal; to learn Spanish. #theworldwalk #travel #guatemalaDay 257. Serious, hand-carved kayaks right there.
